Help Copying big files

Hello,
I've bought the Sony Xperia S recently and I have problem with copying big files into it. I would like to copy a movie in better resolution, its size is 4.36GB. There occurs an error when I try to copy this file to phone, it says 'Its file size is larger than the device limit'. I have 19.1GB free space. Is it limitation of file type format? I havent formated the memory, it is still stock-formated. What should I do to be able to start copying big files? Reformat memory?

It could be a fat32 file system, can't say I've looked myself.

It is the fat32 limit, but apart from converting the film I'm not sure how to help you

You could probably convert it to ntfs, but don't know how that would effect the phone, if at all.

I don't think the android file system supports ntfs it's only fat32

Well it's only the memory card aspect.
Guess the safe option is just convert the file to something smaller

Have you tried converting your videos because I think the maximum file size you can transfer is 2 Gb

In the past I used to use Super Video Converter

Hi,

Have you been tried to copy into phone memory(wondered) and then use the file explorer to move it into ext memory?

I did nearly 6GB size of the file to move as i mentioned above method.
