its just the FAT system that gets corrupt. This can happen. Even your PC NTFS can get corrupted.

I don't consider myself to be an expert but surely it isn't that much of a strange concept to think it may have been caused by an app.

As per this comment. I deleted one video, and lost all my photos and videos.

Surely if the phone/app it asked to delete something and it doesn't do it properly it can effect the file system???

My SD card is is not dead, (perhaps I shouldn't have used the word kill) in fact I reformatted it and it is back in and working now.

And anyway....my issue was the whole recovery process, not the fact I lost it in the first place.

i use this to back up my pc's and my phone.
you can set a profile to run avery 5 mins, so if you phone is plugged in for 10 mins it will back the whole thing up as long as its set up correctly.
