does a full SD card slow down the phone?

Would having alot of stuff on my storage card cause the phone itself to slow down? I try keeping my programs on the phone reduced but it still runs slow and it is rooted and has a custom ROM. Can't figure it out

I don't think that should effect the performance of your phone. Now, if you had a lot of your internal phone storage used up then that would effect your performance. I would suggest trying a new ROM or a new kernel. I'm having some good luck with BB v.61 and it has some Gingerbread pieces in it as well. You might wanna give it a try.

Also not correct. The user storage memory runs at the same speed regardless of how much space is utilized. It's not like an IDE hard drive. Now, if you run out of space you'll definitely run into problems but that's a different matter.

When I change ROMS, do I always need to RE-setup phone? like all apps and info?
