Help Down loading photos from phone to MacBook Air?

Hello.....I can't seem to figure out how to down load photos from my phone to my MacBook Air. When I plug in my phone to my mac, it says, "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer". There are two areas to click....ignore....or....Eject .....Help.......

Try doing it wirelessly using the app "air droid" in the play store.


When you plug the USB cable into your computer, do you get the option on your phone to change to disk drive mode(check the notification area)?
