Root Download failed. Help!!

I received the message for the update and I hit install. The phone turned off and then rebooted. I then got a message that it failed. My phone is rooted. Do I have to unroot and manually install now? If I unroot, can I just take it to a Sprint store and they can install the update. Sure could use some help.

being rooted is why it failed if u removed any of the sprint bloatware. ( the stuff that comes stock out of the box like the asphalt5 demo)

Odin back to Stock DI18 and should get the update message again

If I don't mind losing data/contacts/pictures on my phone, is there a way to just do kind of a system restore that puts my phone back to factory defaults, including firmware, and rid my phone of being rooted at all?

You wont lose pics or contacts but data you will. Pics are stored on the sd card and contacts are stored with google unless you are using some other app then i cant say for sure.
