Help download google maps

Hey guys,

i've been using google navigator through my data plan, i would like to know if it's possible to download the brazilian maps or us map?!

You can precache certain areas of the map, but that will not be practical. Your only real option is to use mapdroid (free) or one of the paid navigation apps.

Damn, google maps looks the best for me with all the point of interestes... i had tomtom on my previous iphone, it wasn't good as the google maps i guess i will keep using google maps and when i travel to other countries i will get a pre paid sim card. thanks

You can pre-cache up to 10 squares at a time. These are described as covering ten miles from the point at which you are choosing for the cached location, but as the areas are square, I'm not exactly sure what that means. But I have successfully cached 2/3rds of London plus West Hertfordshire, and the eastern section of Berkshire as that's mostly where I travel routinely. I could have cached a greater areas with less overlap of the areas that I chose.

this data use rather than a pre-installed map is a pain. Google are missing a trick here and priced correctly they could kill off tomtom with their appalling customer service! I pay
