droid incredible 2 stuk on htc white screen

about a month ago my friend took the battery out of my droid incredible 2 and now everytime i try to turn it on it will stay on the white HTC screen and wont turn on all the way. i tried holding the volume button down and pressing the factory reset but that just freezes it. and if i hit recovery it goes to the white screen for a sec then goes to a blak screen that says updating software from verizon wireless and then will just go to a red triangle. i dont know what else to do. any suggestions?

Was your phone doing anything when your friend yanked the battery out? Was it in the middle of an update?

If you aren't rooted, then you may be able to take it to VZW to get it diagnosed and possibly reset to factory settings.
