Yep, and I've never looked back. I like the way the X is built better than the way the Evo is built, and Verizon is light years better than Sprint (as least where I live).
only downfall is that you won't have as much access to ROMs available as the bootloader is fully locked. (example: cyanogen is not available on the DX)
I do wish they would have tested battery life while gaming... I've only had one day where I didn't make it thru a whole day on a charge and that's when I spent an hour and half playing bubble blast 2. I don't play games much though so in typical use it's not an issue for me.
I haven't been on Sprint for a long time, but it seems from their map that their coverage in my area is kind of meh. I've had zero issues with my Verizon coverage though, and that was half the reason I bailed on my iPhone/AT&T combo early, too many dropped calls and crappy call quality. Haven't had that issue on Verizon with my DX. And the battery life of the DX blows the iPhone out of the water, even with the stock battery. Pretty much every battery test I've seen has the DX beating any HTC handset pretty easily.
I was on sprint for better then 10 years. I don't have a bad word to say about them. They have coverage second only to verizon and they have a roaming agreement with verizon for those areas where they don't have coverage.
But coverage varies by location so I'd recommend checking out www.sensorly.com. The maps they have of cell coverage by provider tend to be pretty darn accurate based on what I've experienced in the real world. It's a quick way to compare one provider against another.
I agree about 4G as well... the 4G radio in the evo is first gen... it's a battery hog and not terribly sensitive from what I hear so in most situations I'd say stick with 3G or wifi.
Way better right out of the box...doesn't even matter about the bloatware or getting another rom. I was amazed after I got mine after using the EVO's little brother for a while and my battery life tripled!
