Hi!
I looked around on here and other forums to see if this has been discussed already. My sincerest apologies if it has! I am a current android user on Ting, looking to upgrade to the Kyocera Hydro Edge. Ting offers the Edge for a whopping $180 and change, so the various offers for the Boost version of the Edge for over a hundred less look very tempting.
But on Ting forums relating to their whitelist it is frequently noted that Boost phones are not able to switch to Ting under their BYOD. As a result I would need to look into buying a Boost Edge and flashing it. Has anyone here got experience with flashing a Hydro Edge to another carrier?
Additionally, since the phone itself is offered by Ting (just not for BYOD), would I be able to use the same ESN/MEID for the phone after flashing it, or does that serialize it as a Boost version? I do have a Galaxy S2 to use as a donor phone if need be. Thanks for any input anyone's got!
