Help Galaxy S won't turn on after mishap

Hi all,
I'm new here and hoping that someone can save me from my phone's demise. I accidentally dropped it a few days ago, and that's when all hell broke loose. When I tried to turn it on again, it would display the Samsung I9000 screen, then the animation, then there would be a short vibration and then it would shut itself off. On the odd occasion where I got into the 3 button recovery, I'd select everything, delete user data, cache, format internal SD, they'd all seem to work, but that didn't get my phone to boot still. Anything recommended?

Try to see if you can get into download mode (Vol Down + Home + Power) if you can get, try flashing the rom again.
