Galaxy S2 - how to stop screen illuminating every 2 minutes?

Hi All,

My Galaxy S2 (Android 2.3.3) seems to light up (when locked) to notify me of everything from new emails, calendar items, even ebay messages.. (generally any notifications I guess). How can I stop it lighting up every 2 minutes? I only really want it to light up when there's a call, sms or calendar alert...

The Galaxy does not have that function built in. Usually the apps you use have notification setting features which control whether the screen will light up or not for their notifications.

I have the same problem, can anyone help. It comes on every four minutes or so. Frustrating when you're sleeping and the room lights up!

Download an app call Noled from the market. It should solve your problem.

I had this problem with some of the earlier firmwares, but was fixed when upgrading firmware. Sorry I don't remember which fixed it but I remember it being something to do with the signal, when it lost signal it would cause the screen to come on.

Is there an update available via kies for your GS2?
