I have a Droid, Evo and just traded for a iPhone 4G this morning (that I don't plan on activating because AT&T blows but I like new toys and I will tether it to the Droid) but I'm glad to see on the Droid forum know one is trying to compare the iPhone to the Droid and say how bad it sucks and blah, blah, blah. I love all 3 phones and their all great in there own way.. Can't we all just get along.....Go Droid!

Wouldn't you have to start a contract to get an iPhone 4 though?

Why did they want to go back to 3GS? Were they having problems with their 4?

Yes..I live in Virginia and thats why I got rid of my original iPhone 2G because the service sucked but he said he had 1...maybe 2 bars at times where he lives and with the 4G he had 1 to 0 bars. Since its just a toy and I just tether it to my Droid I don't care. I'll just Skype..;)

Read some of the news on the iphone4 .. apple steals your information, service is worse than the 3gs, forced updates, etc. I can understand why someone would wanna downgrade.

    Google does the same thing
Like everything else, depends on your location.
Won't the Droids do the same with the OTA updates?
The only real reason to stay away from the new iPhone is because it shatters if you look at it funny.

Oh, I'm sure we have fanboys here too. I haven't seen as much in this particular subforum but the Droid isn't immune from fanboys.

I trade a quad-core pc that I had built. Its a really nice computer but really didn't have alot of cash in and I gave him fifty bucks. I came out pretty good plus I have it up on craigslist for make an offer. I have one guy that wants to trade me an aluminum iMac 21 inch screen..another offer of a Nexus One and $300. Thinking about taking the iMac but I'm still waiting to see if I get an even better offer... :D

Haha, scalping new Apple products to the mindless fanboys that'll pay anything to get it... I wish I had an iPhone 4 right now so I could do the same thing. ;)

And the reason why the iPhone 4 has crappy reception is that the antenna is the outer casing. So whenever you hold the phone you're pretty much attenuating the signal by covering the antenna. It's wonderful, isn't it? You can see that it'll return to full reception when you put it down on a desk.

I don't know about the phone part of it because I'm not going to sign up for AT& Crap T but I do like the phone for a toy. Camera and vid is super and I use it with Fring and sipgate and make VOIP calls so hell...I got a good deal so I don't really care. I just love cell phones! I use to trade computers all the time but now I have to have every frigging phone that come out! Please help me...I'm a Droidaholic...:(

No, DROIDs are not forced updates - you still get a choice.

Hell, great example - my buddy has a Sprint Hero and he didn't even know about an update from 1.6 to 2.1 that was released - I had to manually go into his phone and check for updates (he is not rooted, running 100% stock) before he saw that he had an update.

I rooted long before 2.1 came out, so I have never personally seen the update query, but it exists.

    It is not forced.

    oh, gods, and then some. And most of them are 12 yera old boys trying to play tough on the internets {sic}

Nah, iPhone 4 the lost iSheep. Get it right. :D

Umm, I hate to point out something to ya, but...it's also all over the Android Forums that a certain ROM dev is nothing but a Kanger.

I'm just sayin...if yer gonna believe what ya read, believe it all or take it all with a grain of salt.

Yer a Phone a holic. next you'll need to trade for a Nokia, right? :D

I did too, I've never seen an OTA update, but I thought I read here that some were getting it forced when they rebooted their droids.
