Root Goldcard after reformat?

Hi

I have t-mobile uk branded Desire i have used my 16gb card for goldcard and got it rooted. I used my normal SD card for goldcard as i read somewhere that it is ok to use your everday card to save swaping cards over all the time.
Problem i have is i have now used rom manager to do ext partion on the card and reformated, so am i right in thinking that this will have reset the hex edit for the goldcard?
I have tried applying the hex edit again but after unpluging the desire and it trys to mount the sd card it just says its damaged and wants to reformat it.

Updated: all sorted now as i had already done the root. so just flashed me first rom leedroid's 1.6 froyo love it.
