Help gtalk won't open

not sure what I am doing here. but I have nothing out of the ordinary, popular apps, like skyped, scanner, toss it, twitter, buzz, facebook, foursquare, etc etc
but now I cannot open gtalk it acts like it wants to the screen flashes and then back to the home screen.

any suggestions

I did a batter pull, uninstalled skype and last few apps and still nada

not sure why you can't use gtalk, but you could check out eBuddy. It's an app based (not browser based) all in one IM app that uses google talk.

I realize this doesn't solve your problem, but may offer an alternative.

happened to me again today, I think I know why now

using too much space to email photos caused it
the moment the email was done I was golden

I had the same problem. I was getting a low on space warning, so I deleted some e-mails (hundreds), the low on space warning went away and gtalk started magically working again.

I have read a bunch of threads about this problem with the low space notification that would not go away and I deleted all the emails with pic attachments, and that actually worked.

Thank you so much, I was afraid I was going to have to do the factory reset.

I've got the exact same thing. Although in my case deleting emails just doesn't quite cut it. I have to return to above 20mb of free space in internal memory before the low space msg goes away and I can open gtalk. As soon as internal memory falls under 20.00mb... no go! This needs to be addressed asap since most apps do not install on the SD card and gmail sync keeps all the data internally... I've had to lower the email sync to 4 days of emails and also had to uninstall Google earth...

Thanks for the tips, I uninstallled some app to get rid of the low memory message and gtalk signed in 1st time, gmail also retreived some emails

Same thing is happening to me but i dont have the low on space notification. Any suggestions ?

I would clear your GTalk cache, that helped me out.

Hi everyone, I have the low space message as well, but I have 6.33 GB still available on internal phone storage and 7.24 GB available on my SD Card. Nothing I do will make the low space message go away and after reading tons and tons of posts about this problem, I am led to believe that the low space is what is causing my google account not to sync (calendars and mail haven't synced since 2/22).

I am beyond frustrated and am looking for answers! I have an HTC Incredible.
