Hello. I'm new to Android and recently purchased the Samsung Galaxy Note SGH-1717, OS 2.3.6 on AT&T. I've had this for a week and any phone calls were either on the phone directly, speakerphone, or bluetooth. I've tried 3 different wired mic headsets and the mics aren't working. The headsets are plugged in as deep as possible and the hearing out of the earbuds is fine. All 3 headsets I've tried have the 3 button controls. The center button is the only button that works: pausing, skipping forward, or skipping backwards; and only works in the Songbird app. I've cycled the power and that hasn't helped.
The headsets I have are Apple inner ear, klipsche, and vmoda. All 3 work fine on the iPhone 4S and in voice recording apps.
Does anyone think it's the phone or are the 3 button earbuds not compatible with the Galaxy Note? It's interesting the phone recognizes the center button, but not recognizing the microphone or the volume buttons. If this isn't compatible, it may be a deal breaker. If it is compatible, I'll post another question on using the 3 button in other music apps as not sure why Songbird is the only app it works.
Appreciate any guidance!
