Help Help With Upgrade

Hi

I have had my HTC Hero phone for a while and I've never upgraded it. I would like to do this. I have taken all the necessary steps to back it up. I downloaded HTC Sync where my phone connects ok.

Then when I download the upgrade and it takes me into the utility to upgrade the phone disconnected from the computer and I cannot get it back connected. Hence when i try to do the upgrade it doesnt recognised the phone is there...

Any ideas?

I spoke with HTC and they advised a Factory resest to see if that would work and when I turned it back on it automatically updated to the Android 2.1 ....no idea how I managed it but its all good!!!
