    I'm not positive what active sync really means, but my hotmail email is linked directly to the Mail icon on my home screen and it updates itself periodically to mirror what is actually in my inbox.

    I set this up using the setup tutorial that runs when you start Mail. I hope this is helpful, I'm not smart enough to say too much else.

    I can get as far as "Select the data to syncronize with the Exchange Server" but it always fails after that. And I only have "Mail" selected. It's been so frustrating that I've actually been using my gmail account much more since I got my EVO. Guess that's what Google was hoping for. lol

    See #20 in the post I referenced. The instructions are spot on.

    After much searching and deletion/re-creation of accounts what stopped the calender from syncing on my HTC Desire HD was I had not enabled 'Auto-sync' in 'Settings' -> 'Accounts & sync'.

    After enabling this everything syncs fine.

    Got it working just by playing around...

    Go to exchange set up and enter information as you normally would however:

    server = m.hotmail.com (even if your address ends with live.com)

    domain = (blank)

    Username = username@hotmail/live.com I got mine to work by adding whats in red

    SSL = checked

    After doing this it allowed me to log in and a delete on the EVO 4G also deletes on the server!!!!!!!!!!
