on the evo 4g you could never turn off the vibration for the 4 keys on the bottom. don't know why you'd want to, either. it confirms you actually hit the touch sensitive button.....

We are all different thats why we have all these different options. Personally I turned them off on my OG EVO and I also did it with my 3VO. I get confirmation that I hit the button when I see the corresponding action on the screen, I don't need the phone to vibrate to tell me that.
I think I may have just imagined that the screen vibrate when I touched I because the 4 'physical' keys at the bottom all vibrate and the keyboard vibrates when I was use it. So both of those work. Unless you someone else wants to confirm that their screen vibrates when touching things likes icons and links.
the screen does not vibrate.the motor vibrates the entire handset. if you touch the screen those inputs can activate the feedback based on your settings.
well not the screen specifically, the device vibrating when i touched anywhere on the screen. I do believe i imagined this, because i am so used to my old touch screen device which did vibrate whenever the screen was touched. LG ENV touch. *shutters* at the name now that i have this amazing device.
