HTC Mail (5 Minutes) vs K-9 (Push)

So, after restoring my phone and re-downloading all my apps, I decided to try and use the standard Mail App instead of K-9 which I had been using. The UI is a little smoother.

Anyway, I noticed that you can now have it check under 15 minutes. So I set it to 5, which is as close to "push" as I can think of. I noticed today that my battery was draining quicker than usual.

Would checking every 5 minutes run the battery more than K-9's "push"? I was comfortable with K-9's push.

Wondering if anyone else had this issue or thoughts on it.

i like k9's push but the app itself was slow and laggy imo

i would say that whatever battery drain 15 minutes put on the phone, 5 minutes would be 3 times worse....i have mine at 10

mine is set to 'As mail arrives' and don't see any difference in battery life from when it was set to 15 minutes.

Yeah, K9 isn't a really wonderful program, for sure.

Where is "as mail arrives" setting? Don't see it in the menu.
