HTC10 Hard Bricked? it's a Garbage or what?

HTC10 Not Responding anything

HTC 10 that randomly decided it wanted to go into a bootloop overnight. We woke up in the morning to the phone looping itself at the HTC screen. I did what any android owner would do and tried a hard reset by holding the power+vol up keys.. no dice.

So I then tried holding power + vol down to enter the bootloader... and somehow, some way, it doesnt work.... lolwut?

I've been romming droids since the OG droid in '10 .. !&&* I even had a razr die on me mid wipe and had to jump start it using the old USB splicing trick on the battery terminals... yet I have NEVER had a phone bootloop on me when I tried to get into the bootloader.

I've tried pulling out the SD card, SIM card, connecting a charger, connecting to my PC, and tried using ADB which will not detect the phone because it doesn't stay on long enough for that to happen.

after that - My Charger Socket was Dead ! I gave my phone to repair for replace charger socket... it has been Replaced, and I said, Let's replace Battery also...

He said . ok

After that, He called me , and told me that .. my phone is in bootloop! he do'nt know why...

He knows about hardware problem, and He do not know HTC10 well...

after couple days ---

My Phone is out of Warranty , and I broke my Charger port... I find Charger port in somwhere internet and I buyed... My Phone is PA64 (Which is Closing When Opening Camera when battery around %30 ) because of That, I also Buyed new Battary in internet and I Gave My phone to REPAIRER...

He Changed Charger Port and he called me , he said Telephone is Normally Charging, but it's in Bootloop when starting... He said that ; maybe need to factory reset ( because when make replacement mini board ) need a Factory Reset... I do not know yet , my phone Reaching to Bootlooder menu or download menu... I will look tomorrow and I will edit here...

after couple days...

Question 1) Can you get into fastboot? Power and then quickly volume down.

answer : Nope, won't enter recovery. Doesn't respond to vol down + power?

Phone is also exhibiting weird behavior... it attempts to automatically turn on periodically, but gets to the HTC powered by android screen, then shuts off.

Question 2) When you plug it into the computer does the computer make a ding sound that it's connected? If so, then press power and volume up until the disconnect ding sound which indicates it's rebooting and then immediately press volume down and see if you can get into fastboot. The timing is tricky so I've found using audio cues from computer can help if the phone is messed up.

answer :No LED comes on when I'm charging. If I press vol up and Power my phone turns on, shows the HTC boot screen, then turns off.

When I put Charger not Red LED...

after couple days ---

My Repairer said, He Triyed get into Bootlooder menu with NEW Battery ! He said shows the HTC boot screen, then turns off. immedialty ! Again Again untill battery down...

I do not know What Should do, MAybe it Need JTAG?

after couple days.... I went to JTAG center , He said We cant do JTAG for HTC10 yet

and he looked my phone and said .... its eMMC problem !

Where can I find fine eMMC for me HTC10 ?

So the phone is sufficiently alive that the computer can see it, but not responding to anything else? Can you describe in as much detail as possible what state it's in? What's on the screen, what happens if you plug it into a charger, what happens if you just press and hold the power button, or try to get into the bootloader? And why did you "enforce a hard reset" while it was booting in first place, i.e. was there some problem you were trying to fix? Knowing what state it was in before this may also help identify the problem.

FWIW I've seen that reported with bricked Qualcomm based Samsungs, like S4 and S5. Basically all firmware has been completely wiped out, there's no fastboot, recovery or anything. The device is completely blank, and it will need the correct HTC JTAG rig and factory programming software to have any chance of getting going again.

It's quite puzzling that the computer can see it at all if it can't even get into the bootloader.

Does the charging light come on?

Being stuck on the htc logo implies there was some problem already. I don't suppose you know how it got like that?

Long shot: are any buttons stuck? This isn't the usual symptom of such problems though.

But the truth is that if you can't get into the bootloader there's probably nothing you can do without specialist kit.

I think the issue is, is that the computer is seeing it as a raw Qualcomm device and not "HTC". I know with Samsung S4, etc. if the same thing is happening, the only way to get those going is a factory type JTAG programming rig and software tools, which connects to internal test and production programming points on the logic-bard. It does sound like that any HTC firmware is completely wiped out or is so corrupted, that it's basically blank and can't be re-flashed via USB.

This video shows what basically needs to happen with it...
