I got my Droid - How do I get Google Voice?

I applied for a new number so I could associate all my known numbers to it. I use the google voicemail. It has worked flawlessly since I got it about a year ago? It's pretty sweet how you dial this number and I can have it ring Home, Work and Cell simultaneously.

caller screening, I love this feature, your own callers blacklist .
free unlimited SMS
Voicemail to text transcription
voicemail download and play, never have to dial in for voice mail.

you get it faster if you applied with your Gmail account. I gave out all of my invites, maybe there will be more later.

Does GV work over wifi? I get really bad reception at my house, and it would be pretty sweet to talk via wifi instead. I applied like 2 months ago, and still haven't received an invite. If anyone had an extra they could spare I would appreciate it.

You can use other apps in addition to GV and make calls over wifi. I haven't been able to get a invite, so I haven't tried it yet. If anyone has an invite left though

I think Google stopped giving out invites for awhile. Too many. I am not sure now.

But, I bought two on Ebay for $3.00...just buy one.

Go into your settings at voice.google.com from a computer. Make sure the Do Not Disturb setting is checked. If it isn't, then you could try deleting and re-adding the mobile number associated with the Google Voice account...

Uh, make sure it is not checked. If it is checked, all calls go straight to VM.
