    Hello there,

Is there any possibility to setup Android 2.1 to check for new emails when the screen is turned off? Everything works great when it's on, but I really like to let my phone act as instant mail reader/notifier when the phone is unused.

    Thank you.

I receive new email whether the screen is on or off. What device are you using? What email app? What type(s) of email account(s)?

whether the screen is on or off should have no impact on its ability to syn email / calendar / contacts.

Have you set your phone to stay connected when phone screens off? menu>settings>wireless controll>mobile network settings>check enable always on mobile

Yes, it was enabled. Now after observing my phone for longer period I can see it can receive emails when screen is off but I'm not sure whether the check period works as set (5 minutes) and it looks like taking a longer time to receive new emails.

    Thank you.
