Internet Pass Through Works in Opera but not in Google Play

To give you a background, I got my HTC Chacha and tried the internet pass through feature. I needed to install HTC Sync on my PC for it to work so I did that. After that I successfully connected to the Internet via pass through.

After a few days, I found out that I cannot connect to Google Play, Facebook and Twitter when using Internet pass through. However, Opera Mini works perfectly fine.

I did a software update and updated the Android Market to Google Play but I'm not sure if that was the cause because the problem started even before the updates.

Can you recommend any solution to this? Anyone having the same problem?

Some apps 'fail' when they can't detect either a data connection or a wifi connection. Most apps will still work. I got Google Play to work on my internet passthrough, but I had to push retry a few times to get it to take.
