Help Keep Voicemail Notification On

Hello everyone,

Here is what I would like to do on my Droid:

At night, I shut off every sound except the ringtone so I can hear calls from work. The issue I have with this is that if I miss the call, I don't know if a voicemail has been left.

Is there a way to shut off the notification for e-mail, but keep the voicemail alert sound on? If so, I would also like to have the voicemail keep alerting until I acknowledge it. I am not a fan of the fact that voicemail and e-mail are lumped together under one sound.

I don't know of any way of doing this. Since they both are considered notifications, they are handled by one notification setting.
