Leaving screen on all of the time, bad?

Would leaving the screen on all of the time be bad for the longevity of the phone? I ask cause my phone stays in the dock for extended periods (days) on end.

What is the expected life of the phone or shortest span component?

Unless the phone is defective, you'll have a new phone long before the screen dies.

You can turn the display off while it's in the dock if you want, just press the power button and put it to sleep.
I do that at night anyway, it's so bright! I put it in the dock, set the alarm and turn the display off. If I want to see the time during the night I just hit the camera button to wake it up then the power button again to turn it off.
