looking for a app to keep display on but low brightness

hi all, i'm new here.. sorry for my english, i hope i can explain what i'm looking for..
I have a tablet (A8) and i use an webpage that refresh constantly.. this page send me notification (with sound and on the display) when change, but if the tablet is locked the page not working, no ear nothing.. so.. i'm looking for an app (or a trick) to keep the display on, but that after a while it can lower the brightness to save battery, because the tablet would remain on practically all the time and I can't keep it connected to the cable.
can anyone give me some help?

Most of these apps have similar functionality and allow users to set a schedule for when the display should be kept on, or manually activate it when needed.
