I've been using Android for only a month and find myself already needing to replace my phone. All my apps are installed on the SD card of my current phone. Could moving my apps to the new phone really be as simple as moving the SD card?

This 'droid noob appreciates the advice.

What you will do rather is sign into your new device with the same google account you use now and then download all the apps from the Play Store again (at no charge as the apps follow the account). Same would go for any apps from Amazon's App store.

This will not save your settings, etc in apps.

Your SD card would be a great way to transfer pics, music, etc.
