My Google Play Store has vanished.

It's just gone.
It's not on the list of apps, and going there from an extrenal app crashes it.
Is there a way I can download it or retrieve it?

I have a HTC Wildfire S running Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread and on Orange/EE in the UK.

are you rooted? did you do anything prior to it disappearing?
