Hi, did you have an App like "Where's my Droid" on your phone?
If not, dial your number and see if someone answers otherwise I doubt whether there's much hope of finding it.
I had a cell phone stolen about 14 years ago and had left it unlocked and whoever flogged it, managed to use $40 of my prepay credit in less than 2 hours!
All I could do was get the Telco to shut it down and save my money. The value of the phone was not worth an Insurance claim or for the Police to look for it. Sorry for your loss, but unless you install an App like the one I mentioned, there will be little chance of an honest person handing it in to the local Police Station. Neil.
