Need a reliable video player

I am using the standard one (I'm guessing it's the standard Android one, no idea what it's called) on my Motorola xt905 (lol I know it's boring and old but I'm a simple man).

I watch a lot of different videos and the problem is it's very hit and miss when it comes to keeping it's place, ie picking up where it left off. Very annoying particularly when viewing long videos intermittently or alternately.

Can anyone recommend a nice simple player that does this more reliably?

I like 'MX Player', it can play back a wider range of file formats than the default Android video player and it has settings for picking up where you left off. After you install it, go into its Settings >> Player menu, scroll down to the 'Resume' menu. You'll have 'Yes' 'No' and 'Ask at startup' selections. Mine is set for 'Ask at startup' because sometimes there are instances when I do want to resume from where I left off, sometimes I just want to start from the beginning again.
