New Galaxy S owner in Canada

Just picked up a Samsung Captivate on the Rogers networks in Canada. I essentially went from a Ford Pinto to a BMW on the phone scale, coming from an old beat up Nokia 3220 to a Samsung Galaxy S. So far I'm really enjoying the phone, but it has definitely been a learning curve. I've found that some things definitely take some research. I'm currently battling with a problem with received texts where the timestamp is about 4 hours earlier than it should be. I've searched around and it appears that I'm not the only person with this issue. I've temporarily solved the problem by using an app for my messaging, but I'd like to find a solution, not just a cover-up quick fix.

Anyways, I'm here to learn. Looks like an interesting forum!

It looks like your issue is definitely not an uncommon one among Captivate owners.

Hopefully Samsung is working on a fix. In the interim I think using a third party SMS app is likely your best fix.
