New Guy with Android 2.1

Hi Guys just wanna say a quick hello and how are you. I am the proud owner of a Samsung Galaxy portal it came loaded with Android 2.1 and I love it, cant even think why i was interested in an over priced iphone. Anyway thats the Hellos out the way the first thing I would like to know is do I have to put up with texting on that awful Android qwerty keyboard, i got big hands and find it so awkward, your help would be gratefully accepted, thanks - Taz
