Fixing with an update is fine as long as the problem is rogue processes that shouldn't be generating that heat in the first place. If the problem is physical, that they don't have adequate heat dissipation, then any fix will come down to throttling, and that will need to be done very carefully to avoid a second round of complaints.

(If that is the case I'd advise them to issue the same fix to the non-Pro models, even though they don't seem to need it. Because they will have an issue if the fix is to throttle the phone and people find that the non-Pro is faster than the Pro as a result).

But in the interest of balance, at least they aren't actually igniting... ;)
