New Software Update

There is a new software update for the phone. I went to menu>settings>about phone>system updates and downloaded the new update....dunno the specific enhancements, just thought I'd let you all know.

Who Can Use This Release
ALL Motorola DROID Pro users.
After downloading and installing the software release, you will notice:

Enhancements:

• • Improved audio on voice calls.

  • User interface display now refreshes when user switches from GSM/UMTS communication to Global Mode.
  • Device now prepends 011 to Country Code to send SMS messages.
  • Global Mode no longer resets when connecting to a USB charger.
  • Visual Voice Mail now detects airplane mode while Wi-Fi is active.
  • Prompt return to full screen brightness after wake-up.
  • Upgraded Bluetooth firmware.

You don't need to unroot. I installed the update while still rooted, after the update I lost root, so I reran z4root and I'm back in business.

Word of warning though:

if you've renamed or deleted any of the stock apps in the system/app folder (I renamed a bunch of mine from .apk to .bak), your update will fail. I had to rename them all back to .apk and in order to successfully install the update.

I can not for the life of me get this update to stick.
I have unrooted, factory reset ... irritating

Downloading the update now. Did not unroot. Will see if it sticks and will re-root. I will report back later.

Update is done, lost root, ran Z4ROOT and rooted in 30 seconds. I hope this fixes the push issue with corp email.

The update did not fix the push issue with Exchange. The native email was behind the Touchdown app.

Really hoping to just use the native email and uninstall Touchdown but I guess I'll keep waiting.

I just get "check for update is not available". Can't get the update

Got it to work by going to Settings – data manager – data delivery – social applications -sync over wifi -> Off.

No problems with the update. Ran Z4root right after and everything is back to running!

curious. my push email account was working fine with the native software until i installed the update. now it's throwing errors left and right.

Deleted and re-added the account and now all is well.

My update keeps failing. I have unrooted and it fails everytime.
