Root noob - easy way to cyanogen?

hello everyone
just got my new legend today after a long time with the samsung galaxy
i have searched the web for an easy guide for rooting and flashing a new rom in it
i know there is a way with the goldcard but i have found a one click soft root for the legend and wanted to know if anyone tested it and was successful with installing a new rom with it and rom manager?

I'm pretty certain the one click method does not work on the legend, I think you are going to have to do it the long way, head on over to Modaco for all the instructions.

damn that was hard compared to the proccess in my old samsung galaxy but now i'm the prowd owner of a lovely cyanogen 6.1 rc2

I agree. I'm use to VERY easy ROM upgrades coming from a Windows Mobile background and rooting + installing a custom ROM on the Legend was quite the task, but I'm glad I did it.

the one click rooting does work for the Legend, I did it before I rooted, but you can't use it to install new ROMs because it resets every time you reboot and you have to do it again

whats do you guys think better modaco or cyanogen ?

I like using HTC apps too much to give them up, so MoDaCo, though I miss the ability of putting anything you want to SD from Cyanogen, I'll have to go with MoDaCo as it's quicker ( Modaco 2.2 custom ROM vs Cyanogenmod Azure performance - Android @ MoDaCo ) and because of the apps that it comes with, not Sense though, I use LPP
