Online android market

I put my vote in saying that the new online market works with the carriers and maintains updates. What is your thoughts on this? I am saying this being an Galaxy S customer that is still on Eclair(1.5).. I think it would be a quicker process to sync your phone up on the computer and (like iTunes) the online market takes care of the business for you. NO OTA that you have to wait on your phone company to push... Like I said I would like to hear your thoughts or concerns with this idea

First of all, Eclair is 2.1

Second of all, what on earth does the market have to do with firmware update? *confused*

No thanks, I want OTA installs. They happen in seconds, for me.
