Help Phone reboot during charging

Hi, every night when I put my HTC Magic on mains charge (with the phone on and functioning), in the morning it is stuck on the "ANDROID" boot screen. I have to remove the battery, replace and turn on to get the phone working. I don't know if this auto reboot happens when the phone is fully charged or what? Any help would be appreciated.

I have recently upgraded to 2.2 but I was having this problem on the 1.5/1.6 version as well.
