So I Did a full wipe and wiped cache/dalvik cache twice, and installed Myn's ROM. My phone is rebooting itself anytime I'm browsing the net or doing wireless/wired tether. I can feel my phone getting hot on the back during the process of rebooting. What is causing this? I've tried flashing different kernels but to no avail. Is anyone experiencing or have experienced this problem? If so, can you please point me to how I can fix this? Everything works fine until I begin to browse the net or tether, and then it goes into a boot loop until I remove the battery for several mniutes, then everything is back to normal.

Also, ive noticed that when i do full data wipe and reboot, everything is wiped however it seems myns rom isnt coompletely removed as I go into the settings, about phone and the SW version still references Myn's. Full factory/wiped a few time but same thing happens. I'm perplexed! Please help!

full factory wipe will not delete the rom. Do you have any overclocking? it seems like your phone is reaching the fail safe temp and turning off to save its self. do you have a phone temp gauge? check that out. what kernel are you running. try another rom perhaps stock and see what happens.

It's not overclocked. Just running default Myn's ROM/HTC Kernel. I downloaded a stock rom from XDA and same thing was happening. Very weird. This one has me confused. Last thing I want to do is use an RUU to roll it back to a previous version and then root that again. But if I have to, I guss I have no choice. Any other ideas what can be going on? I'll install a temp gauge and get some numbers. Oh, I also did a restore to a nandroid backup but still problem exists.

If flashing different roms/kernels aren't fixing it, then I don't think unrooting and rooting will fix anything. It may be something wrong with the hardware, unfortunately.

Was browsing yahoo on the phone, and took a screenshot of my batt. temp. It was at 90 degrees far. right before it rebooted itself. When it cambe back to the screen, the temp reached up to 94.5 degrees far. I'll get a screenshot uploaded :(

So I unrooted my phone and now it's back to stock ROM. The random reboot seems to still occur when the phone begins to get hot. Especially when I'm streamin video. Looks like I'm going to have to take this back to Best Buy. Has anyone been successful in returning a phone that randomly reboots for a new one? How was your experience with Best Buy?

Yeah, I've heard of that. Odd thing here is that I'm back on stock Sprint ROM, so something is still pegging the CPU and reaching some heat threshold, that forces the phone to reboot. Going to take a trip down to Best Buy and see what they tell me. I've had this phone for 5mos now. Will probably have to do an insurance claim on it or something.

My phone is just basically sitting (couple texts, little yahoo messenger) and my temp is 85f right now. During extended phone calls (using bluetooth headset, phone plugged in) my battery reaches 115 normally...
Your phone shouldnt be rebooting, but if you say its hot, and obviously its rebooting, you might have a faulty phone..
I would try to take it in and get a new one from best buy. Do you have their insurance? From whats advertised..they should just give you a new one. I doubt theyll be able to pinpoint a specific issue to replace a part. By the time they replace some boards, they might as well just give you another one lol.

The phone should handle what youre doing to it, so run the RUU and unroot and take that mother effer in.
Have you ran the RUU before or know how to do it?

My gf phone is doing the same thing. I installed Myn's ROM and after a day or so the phone would just lockup or reboot. I then restored the phone to the state it was in prior to the ROM and it still does the same thing. What hardware version are you on?

Have y'all tried wiping and running the phone with no installed apps on it?? That would answer your question. If it still happens, time for a new/fixed phone. If it doesn't, it is a rogue app.

Yeah, all this started happening after I flashed Myn''s BETA 4 ROM. So I did a nandroid restore to one of his previous ROMS - same issues. So when he released his Final RLS 4 ROM, I wiped everything and wiped cache/dalvik cache and flashed the RLS 4, and still had the problems. So recently, I decided to try to isolate the issue. So I reverted back to stock Sprint ROM using this method ---> [GUIDE] How to Unroot the EVO in 2 STEPS - xda-developers and still having the same issues. I've heard of RUU, but have only read up on it a little. That may be my next course of action before I send this back to Best Buy for repairs.

    I'm on the following:

    HW Version: 0003
    Baseband: 2.15.00.09.01
    Kernel: 2.6.32.15-ge2fb08e htc-kernel@and18-2 #11
    Build#: 3.29.651.5 CL252548 release-keyes
    SW#: 3.29.651.5
    PRI Ver: 1.77_003
    PRL Ver: 60671

Yep, it even happens when I flashed back to stock Sprint ROM with no apps installed. I'm starting to think it might be the phone itself.

It is the phone for sure. Take it back to best buy and get another. It happens unfortunately.

Yeah, for sure. Considering the holidays though, I might wait until after Dec. It may be a longer turnaround then usual because of xmas right around the corner. I guess I'll deal with it until then. Unless Best Buy will give me a loaner? I read somewhere someone had to put down $150 deposit for a loaner. I wonder what they gave him. lol

It probably wouldn't hurt to atleast go down there and see what they say and how long the turn around time would be.

Thanks! So I got to BEst Buy and described my problems to this one rep. She said it sounded like a bad battery. So she ordered me a new one. Pretty weak that she couldn't just give me one off the floor there. Oh well. We'll see what happens.....

I remember reading that they did require a deposit for a loaner.
