phone to phone app transfer not working

I am switching all of my data from my HTC Droid Eris to a brand new replacement. My google account has uploaded all my contacts to the replacement and I switched the SD cards which took care of my saved Pics etc. None of my apps have shown up on the replacement besides the pre existing loaded ones from HTC and google.

The apps won't be automatically transfered to your new phone.

If they are paid, then they will be available for re-downloading in the market. They'll come up as purhcased when you go into your downloads.

If you backed up your apps to your sd card, then you could easily re-install them.
