Very Satisfied minus the little detail that I can't seem to be able to root it no matter what I try. :(

Me too! I'm going out to buy a Class 2 Sandisk 16GB SD card which a lot of people said they've had success with. Let's hope for the best!

You know how you feel after the first lay with a gorgeous girl? I feel like that every night going to bed with my Incredible... That's how satisfied I am.. Last night, I played a couple games before bed, and smoked a cigarette.. (I don't smoke, either)..

We already have wired tether without root and without additional software. Just search the forum for "Tether Natively" and a how-to will be listed. The only thing you have to "install" is the driver.

i dont understand that. when i got my first smartphone (the vx-6700 or something) i was able to use it as a modem only having the unlimited data package, then i switched to alltel for a few years and the few months i was on Verizon with my windows phone i could still use it as a modem. so, the only thing that changed was my phone and not my plan, so why wouldnt i be allowed to do it with the inc? i could just as easily get a WM phone and do it, it makes no sense to me!

Because Verizon offers "Mobile Broadband Connect" for the Incredible, for wired tethering. And because if they find a way to make more money of of a feature, they will.

Yeah. I use EasyTether, so I don't pay, but Mobile Broadband Connect costs money.

Yup. It's completely wrong. But I assume that the more popular device will make you pay, while the device that is not selling will have it for free, as to entice you to buying that device. Example: Palm Pre Plus.

This is impossible without drivers. Drivers are what allows the computer to communicate with the phone.. Unless you root and use wifi tethering, in which case the computer need a wireless adapter.

I voted "Satisfied" only because my first HTC Incredible had both Call Quality and Signal Quality issues. The phone was deemed defective from VZW Tech Support. It is a great phone and hopefully my second will not experience these issues.
