If i tried to flash a thunderbolt rom on the ally to test if it worked, can it brick my phone? Or will it just not boot? I have aloha recovery

Can someone go into some detail as to why? I realize things like the camera and wifi might not work. And there are certain kernals. Im learning

Roms are built specific to their hardware, it will not work and could possibly brick your phone.

Sorry, I'm just itching to try a new rom . I wish CM7 was ported to the ally... but i dont really know how to go abt that

I flashed a Nexus One ROM onto my old Eris. It actually got past the boot animation to the lock screen, then process.google.acore continually FC'd on me. But I did a nand restore and everything turned out alright. Those were both HTC phones, however, and i have no idea about compatability cross-manufacturer. I wouldn't take the risk, though.
