Bought an Escort 9500ix radar detector. Not cheap, but very effective. It uses GPS to allow you to mark known speed traps and also reject known false alerts (like automatic door openers) based on band frequency and location. Also has about a one mile range... plenty of time to react.
I couldn't turn my Full Stack past 5.. Everything would rattle of the shelves in the entire house let alone the SPL's would literally hurt. #3 would match the drummer volume easily while #5 was overkill. So in remembrance of past fun I got these, both of which I can plug in my actual guitar (not a button controller) into:
