Help Power button issues

so i have an htc evo shift, and my power button doesnt work, which is not a big deal really. but my phone died and now i cant turn it back on. i plugged it in for like 30 mins and i was wondering if theres some way to turn it back on without having to push the power button. i just had to replace it because it somehow managed to get dropped in the toilet lol... so im not really trying to replace it again if i dont need to, please help!!
