I know this is probably obvious to a lot of people, but I thought I'd make a post to point it out as a warning. I just left Verizon and had an unlimited plan so I never paid much attention to what was using my data or how much I used. I've activated my N5 on Straight Talk and wanted to test out the AT&T LTE speeds and ran three speed tests on my phone on Monday afternoon. Got about 16.7 to 17.7 mbps down and 6.3 to 6.8 mbps up. Sweet. One test was on HSPA and was slower.
I happened to check my data usage this morning and have used 198mb of data in the two days since I got the phone. 150mb of that data was used by the Speedtest app.
Since many folks might be coming from an N4 and are getting LTE for the first time and are likely anxious to see how fast it is, keep in mind you're using data running those tests! The last thing you want to do is get 1) throttled for going over, or 2) charged extra for going over, depending on how your plan works.
Have fun,
Gary
