Question about custom Roms

I was wanting to upgrade my droid 2 with a custom rom, i am already rooted. I have necer tried it yet but was wondering before i do, what all will be erased from my phone? Apps, Contacts, etc..

Hi Weewie, welcome to AF!

When you install a custom ROM, you'll be starting from scratch so all that will be on the phone after the flash will be whatever apps the dev has included with the ROM.

You can sync your contacts to your gmail account and apps like Titanium Backup will backup your apps and the associated data so you won't lose much, you'll just need to set things up again. For the exact ins and outs of what you need to do, head here: Droid 2 - All Things Root - Android Forums

Are there any apps that I specifically need to backup? or just the ones I want? I have titanium backup and have backed up the ones I want.

It's down to personal choice. As long as you don't try and restore system apps on your new ROM (they appear as red in Titanium), you can backup/restore whatever you want.

Your apps are tied to your gmail account anyway so you may see them re appear after you've linked your handset to the gmail account again.
