I know google voice search and google search come preinstalled but when I go to the app store it says that they haven't been installed...do I have to install them from the market to get updates??? Thanks for helping.

These are system apps, and there will not be updates from the market. An update to these apps will come in the form of an OTA update.

Then why even offer these in the market?

Maybe we're talking about two different things. . . I can't think of a single reason you would need to download/update a "Google Search" app. You press the search button, type your search keyword(s), and the browser opens with the results. An app would just be directing you to the site or pulling in reults from the site.

I understand that it is built in to the os but why does google offer them as apps in the market? Maybe I am just overthinking this whole thing I dunno.
