Help "R" icon where signal should be?

I keep getting it today. Theres an R where H/H+ should be and that ! on the left. The notification says "DATA ROAMING: you have lost data connection because....." tapping on it takes me to the settings to switch roaming on.
Im at home though and usually have an excellent signal. My wife is on same network and hers is fine

You're a marked man. That R is really the R in IRS. For some reason you're not hooking up to your home carrier's signal. Can you toggle 3G/4G?

Lol mate nah i dont have a 4g account or 4g phone but ive tried using 2g instead of 3g, didnt help its maybe a problem with the sim. I dont have another phone to test it with that takes micro sims though

Your cell tower might be down and you're picking up another carriers tower in the meantime.

Yeah thats what id have thought but my wife is sat beside me with same carrier and hers is fine

3 are having some similar problems as last week, so you may be one of the unfortunate few who are getting network issues

Thanx bro. Yeah the Mrs' phone has just started having problems too and when i use the Speedtest.net app it connects to a server in Douglas, usually its a server in Edinburgh. 3 dont seem to be very good at telling us their status compared to o2

Yeah I agree, the other major networks have status pages for their network state but three don't, its a bit of a pain sometimes!

Yeah its annoyin man. Not a reason for me to change network though lol 3 is amazing value. Who is it from the international ATR forum who works with 3 or used to, was it you mate?

Yeah that's me. I don't work for them but I work for an MVNO who use their services, so we work with them

K its been ok for like 2hours now, im not losing data now but the speeds are like Wap 1.0 lol

Did you flash a new modem?

Have you compared apn with your wife's phone?

You tried a reset? I had the roaming signal the other day and a quick reboot sorted it. I have read somewhere that AOSP ROMs have a had a few signal problems, well I know PA has been having them.

Thanks peeps as CD said, it was just a problem with the 3 servers. Justnow i have the wii tethered for netflix, Mrs Logik's phone tethered, plus im browsin nice n fast
