I had submitted several questions to Google about their policy for renting and purchasing content on Google Play and rooted devices. Today I got this email:
Hi Charles,
I'm Claire, and I'm a Google Play specialist. We've made some changes to the Google Play Movies & TV app recently and we think you'll be happy with the results! If you end up running into any viewing problems however, please do let me know and I'll be happy to help.

I don't know if that means I can watch purchased content, rented content, or what. Is there anyone with a rooted phone or knowledge of this policy change that can shed some light on the matter?
