Root [MetroPCS] [ROM] KitKat 4.4.2 NEW BETA 4

I did notice with mini ...downloading files like roms and themes, large....large and small....fail ...

Unless downloaded with a proxy type app...like mega...or torrent(taboo I know..sorry)....or play store...

This phone is teaching me minimalism...and to not care how it looks...just how it acts....

.If I don't stop play store from installing the apps ki used last time...before I sacrifice blood and do
the dance of little room...

Format...start all over

I flashed ROM version 4 and got rootcloak up and running (I was running it on JB as I had rooted to do some other mods). I get through to the point of putting in my PIN and then it pops up and says it isn't supported on this phone. Did you have to adjust the build props? I looked and noticed the fingerprint doesn't specify tmo.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you also load the GFE Security Patcher (from xposed download library)? And I assume if you unrooted your phone, GFE works? Finally, make sure everything is active before running GFE (e.g., you rebooted after installing and activating xposed modules)

I'm assuming GFE is Good For Enterprise Security Patcher. I loaded it and it doesn't change the issue at all. I had it working under 4.1.2 on the stock ROM rooted with Root Cloak. The message I'm getting now isn't that it is a rooted phone, it says "..Softcard isn't available on your phone". This would indicate to me that it is seeing something that is saying the phone is something other than a T-Mobile F6, that's why I asked about build props. I know others have gotten it to work with the MetroPCS stock ROM by adjusting the build props.

Alexnyc, do you actually have it running with this ROM? can you share your build prop file?

Yes, GFE and softcard both are working with this rom; didn't touch build.prop except to fix LTE (which shouldn't affect this issue). I'll try to dig it up when I get home.

If softcard doesn't work, it sounds like you didn't get rootcloak working. What versions are you using? I used Towelrook v3, SuperSU v2.37, xposed v58, Phantasm4489's GFE security patcher v3.5. I forgot to add - you also need to manually add the app to rootcloak (and don't forget to reboot afterwards).

It isn't saying that it doesn't work on rooted phones (I've seen that message) so Root Cloak is working. It is saying this phone isn't compatible and then taking me to a webpage that shows the compatible phones. What do I need GFE for?

sorry just realized I mixed up part of this discussion with another forum. Ignore the GFE stuff. Here's my prop file.

EDIT: Can't seem to attach the file so here's the contents:

Just installed this ROM, because I wanted Kitkat. The phone is relatively new, made in 05/2014. Things are going okay except some initial sluggishness. Then I noticed that the back camera doesn't work, while the front does. I read that the back camera model can be ov5693 sensor from Omnivision. However, I'm not sure if there has been different versions of the camera in this lineup, and whether OV5693 is newer than these ROMs? The camera happened to be the single most reeming feature of this low cost handset, and I'd really love to see some support behind it.

Unfortunately you most likely have one of the f6 is which has a different camera that is not supported by this ROM. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news
Is there any more information about this? How many types of camera does F6 have? I tried and all the kitkat roms (Carbon, this, and CM11) have dead rear cameras. 4.1.x ones all work fine. Wondering why. Thanks.

The kitkat ROMs don't have the drivers for your camera built in. This problem is due to the fact that lg never released an official kitkat update for this phone so it is much more difficult for the developers to get everything working smoothly. If there was an official kitkat update for the f6 they would probably have all the issues fixed a while ago. The best bet for fixing the camera issues (if I remember correctly) is to find another device that has the same front and back cameras, the same CPU, and an led flash, and kitkat. This isn't easy to do though.
