I have currently two installations of samba on my phone (HTC Desire). One is an APK GUI app using Samba 3.0.14a by Jimmy C. and the other is an CLI package linked from xda-developers - View Single Post - [solved - work in progress][MOD]Samba Server for Android
My issue is that I cant seam to get nmbd to announce my phone with either one of these two. There is no problem when I manually connect to smbd using my IP Address, but I would like to get the other part working to.
I checked the status of nmbd using "pidof nmbd" and it seams fine.
Does android have something similar to an "hosts.deny" file or something? Because something is stopping nmbd from doing it's job it seams.
